With this integration, users can top up their cards through any Bharat Connect-enabled app. The NCMC program allows commuters to make seamless, contactless payments across metros and buses in multiple Indian cities.
The new service removes the need to queue at physical recharge points. Customers can select the ‘NCMC Recharge’ option, choose Airtel Payments Bank, enter their mobile number and the last four digits of the card. The platform shows the minimum and maximum recharge limits and the existing balance.
Users can recharge up to ₹2,000 on these cards. After recharging, they can update the card balance by tapping it on a designated terminal. The cards work on key routes like Mumbai Metro One, Delhi Metro, NCRTC, Gujarat Metro, and several state bus services.
Noopur Chaturvedi, MD & CEO, NBBL, said the integration will help cardholders avoid long queues and recharge instantly using any payment app. Ganesh Ananthanarayanan, COO, Airtel Payments Bank, said the partnership aims to offer customers easy and secure top-ups while promoting digital inclusion.
