What is PM-KISAN?
Launched in 2019, the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) is a central government scheme offering ₹6,000 annual income support to eligible farmers.
The amount is paid in three equal instalments of ₹2,000, transferred directly to beneficiaries’ bank accounts every four months.
As per the payment cycle, the next instalment is due between April and July 2025. Media reports suggest the disbursement could happen in June, but the exact date and venue of the release event are still awaited.
To receive the upcoming ₹2,000 instalment, farmers must:
- Complete e-KYC
- Link Aadhaar with bank account
- Ensure land record verification

The scheme’s portal states that “eKYC is mandatory for all registered farmers.”
- Visit pmkisan.gov.in for OTP-based e-KYC
- Visit your nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) for biometric e-KYC
Saturation drive completed in May
The Ministry of Agriculture recently ran a nationwide saturation drive for PM-KISAN, which ended on May 31, 2025. The goal was to bring onboard all eligible farmers and ensure compliance with verification steps.
Farmers were urged to complete pending formalities during this period.
Who is eligible for PM-KISAN?
To receive the 20th instaliment, a farmer must:
- Be a citizen of India
- Own cultivable land
- Be a small or marginal farmer
- Not be an income taxpayer
- Not draw a pension above ₹10,000/month
- Not be an institutional landholder
How to check status or apply?
- To check beneficiary status: Go to pmkisan.gov.in → ‘Know Your Status’ → Enter registration details
- To check name in list: Visit site → ‘Beneficiary List’ → Select location → Click ‘Get Report’
- To register: Use the ‘New Farmer Registration’ option on the website and follow the instructions
