The ambitious conversion of Nitesh Tiwari of Ramayana remains one of the most discussed projects in Indian cinema, not only for his scales and artists, but also for the discussion around its casting process. While the film already claims big names like Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sile Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, and Sunny Deol as Hanuman, now this acclaimed actor Jaideep Ahlawat has also come to know that Vibishan, Ravana was also contacted to play the role of Ravana.
Known for his intense performance in films like Raazi and an action hero, and web series Patal Lok, Jaideep was allegedly eager to be a part of the mythological epic. However, due to scheduling conflicts and prior commitments, the actor had to reject the proposal. Sources close to production suggest that the manufacturers were eager to bring them to the board for an important role, but the dates were not simply aligned.
Interestingly, Jaideep is not the only name that was running for the vibration. Last year, there were strong rumors that suggest that Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathi was celebrated, also talking to play the role. However, those discussions eventually fell.
The film’s production is progressing at the stages, to start their shooting schedule with many actors yet. A few days ago, Sai Pallavi was seen filming her share as Sita. Yash, who played the role of Pratipakshi Ravana, has also shot for some of his scenes. However, Sunny Deol, who steps into the powerful role of Lord Hanuman, and Kunal Kapoor, who plays the role of Lord Indra, is still starting filming.
As an expectation makes for the Ramayana, the manufacturers are leaving no stone unturned to collect a powerful attire. While the exit of Jaideep Ahlawat is definitely a disadvantage, fans are eager to see who will finally take a level of disruption in this grand retailing.
