Xiaomi does not plan to demonstrate its upcoming Yu7 electric SUV at China’s biggest auto show next week, curiosity to catch a glimpse of a wide expectation among visitors to Tesla’s model Y.
Xiaomi Vice President Lee Xiaoshuang said that the company will take its SU7 and SU7 ultra vehicles at the Shanghai auto show on social media platform Weibo only on Tuesday.
When asked by users about U7 in the show, he said it would not be painted. “Don’t worry, it will be in its best position when it comes,” Lee has written in a response.
Many industries bloggers have said in the major weeks for the show’s published articles that it was shown, so the U7 will be a main attraction of the event.
Xiaomi’s founder and CEO Lei June has earlier stated that the plan was officially to launch U7 in June or July, but regularly posting pictures of SUVs on its widely followed Vibo account, with more than 26.5 million followers.
Analysts have said that they hope that U7 Tesla’s best -selling model will be the strongest competitor in the Chinese market for Y.
Xiaomi began building EVS last year with the launch of SU7 sedan after selling smartphones, home appliances and smart gadgets for its 15 -year history. Since December, the SU7 sedan has excluded Tesla’s model 3 on a monthly basis.
The company was pushing in the dispute last month after a deadly accident involving a SU7, which caught fire after hitting the roadside pole at a speed of 97 km/h, while its advance driving aid system was replaced, killing the driver and two other passengers.
The accident started widespread discussion about EV security in China and the state’s state media has urged the automakers not to overplay smart-driving capabilities.
