Rising pop artist Edison Rai has released the fourth song from his upcoming debut, “Headphone On” through Columbia Records. Like the other solo of the album, Luka Closser and Elvira Anderfazrad, co-written and manufactured by “Headphone”, were released with a music video filmed in Reckjavik, Iceland.
Directed by Mitch Ryan, the scene starts with Rae Deadriming during grocery purchases, and with her “headphone”, she imagines herself frolic in rural areas of Iceland. Lyricly, the song grabbed Rai Mourning, “I wish my mother and father could be in Love.” And in pre-curus, she arrives at acceptance: “You cannot cure that is already broken/You just have to surrender for a moment.”
This song comes shortly after coming out as Rai Guest For the Cachela set of ARCA on 13 April, where both performed on “ARCAMARINE,” Artist and producer’s “Aquamrine” of RAE’s RAE. During his appearance, Rai conveyed his underwear to the audience and revealed the date of “6 June”, which is the release date of his debut LP.
“Headphone” is the first release under Edison’s new publication deal with Sony Music Publishing. He signed with Colombia records in 2024 and released his first single under the label, “Diet Pepsi” in October. The song became her first hot 100 breakthrough, making her number 86 on the 21-dated chart and was at number 54. He followed “Diet Pepsi” with “Aquamarine” and “High Fashion”, all of which were also manufactured by Closer and Anderfazed.
Rai first released a five song EP called “AR” with a feature of Charlie XCX. Rai also appears on a remix of “von Dutch”, which is the same from Charlie’s “Brat” album.
