AR Rahman Recently about the construction of one of his most famous compositions was opened, Be, and it is! From Imtiaz Ali’s 2011 film Rockstar Ranbir Kapoor starring. In an interview with Mashable India, the Oscar winning musician revealed that the song was not planned in a traditional sense, but a music jam emerged spontaneously during the session.
The iconic track was born from a jam session
“We were making something else. I was sitting with a harmonium with Madhushree and Javed Ali and we were mixing something and even recording it. We were also jamming. I was playing, singing Javed and Madhusri. Javed and Madhusree were singing. At one point it all ended and magic was ended,” Roman said.
The composer further revealed that the original recording was about 12 to 13 minutes long. He said, “Later I went back to a long recording of 12-13 minutes and grabbed the parts from it. I said this is the tune that we have. So Kun Faa was taken from that entire jam session,” he said.
Rockstar soundtrack Rehman is one of the finest
The soundtrack of Rockstar, released 15 years ago, is placed in public memory, in which Kun Fa Kun has placed a special place. The spiritual Sufi composition not only took the audience to a transport, but also had a profound impact on the actor. Ranbir Kapoor shot the scene at the revered Nizamuddin Dargah.
The music of the film went to win several awards and is still considered a high point in Rahman’s magnificent career.
Permanent music bond of Imtiaz Ali and AR Rahman
Rahman also talked about his creative chemistry with director Imtiaz Ali, with which he has collaborated in many films including Tamasha, Highway and upcoming Amar Singh Chahamkila. He praised Ali for his sensitivity to songs and music.
Rahman said, “Imtiaz has a good ear for songs and tunes,” saying that their work is quite liquid. “Once we signed a film, I keep sending the tunes to him -whatever I think it can be good for his film. And then he stays with it. Sometimes he would say that he will say that he has got his tune, sometimes he will throw it out,” he shared with a smile.
Kun Faya Kun continued to instigate emotions and praise after his release, Rahman’s anecdote is a will for the power of easy creation and unique magic that emerges when the artists are in sinks, both with each other and with a moment.
