There is a moment in the documentary behind Netflix about Netflix’s new “Strenger Things” play, which has a majority of a conversation between the player and playwright of the play, as it includes a lot of spoilers about the upcoming fifth and final season of the hit TV series.
It was not any doubt that “Strenger Things: The First Shadow” “Strangers” Creators serves as a not a subraise for an essential person to reverse for the master plans of Creators Matt and Ross Duffer.
But the duffers will be the first to tell you that, although the show “Strenger Things” is an integral part of mythology, which is in the final season, it was not his idea. It was also not Netflix. It was from the famous director Stephen Deldry.
“It did not come from Netflix. It was not the idea of Netflix. It was Stephen’s view,” Matt Dafar said that during a question -answer “screening behind the curtain: Building the world of ‘Stranger Things: The First Shadow” on Monday. “Stephen was the one that was to push it and had to do it. He was emotional about it and I think it is important. You have something like this, you can brainstorm the goods to earn money and use the name, but it’s not clear what it was. Stephen was fighting to do it.”

After “Strangers Things” in 2017, Duldry approached the duffers with his views to create “Stranger Things” after “Stranger Things”. Duffers were interested in the director and manufacturer of “The Crown” – and were further confused when they explained that it was not a music (as many people, including daffers, when they listened to Broadway). It was a science-fi/horror play that actually scared its audience in the same way as the TV series.
The producers of the legendary West and and Broadway, Sonia Freedman, director Justin Martin, and “Stranger Things: The First Shadow” enter the playwright Kate Treffri, who has been a writer in the “Stranger Things” TV series since season 2. Duffers helped sketch the initial idea and ensured that he is in his big story for the TV show. “Stranger Things” to Big Bad Henry Crell/Wonca – Deldry, Freedman and Treffri. And that trio had the task of ensuring everything in “first shadow”, both served as a standalone playing, and as a bridge between season 4 and 5 of “Stranger Things”.
“I was writing Play and Writing Season 5 at the same time, and so for me, they are two pieces of a whole, and they are unbreakable to each other,” Trefri said. “And I think the experience of consuming the two together is really fun and satisfactory of how many they are connected.”
They are so connected that the Duffers were sending notes on the changes made at the conclusion of the series, which began at West End in December 2023 in December 2023, which began to win two Olivier Awards for Best Entertainment or Comedy Play and Best Set Design.
“Part of the challenge, and I think what you’re looking for in [behind-the-scenes doc]Kate was doing season 5 with us, but at a certain point, [she was] While we were doing the film, we were doing it, and then we were working on the finale stuff, “Ross Defeer said.” And as Matt and I were finishing, the goods were changing and everything was developing in real time. And I think this is the biggest challenge from this because, as we met for the script, we realized that we needed to change things and impressed the play, but they were in the midst of drama. It was very close, a few weeks before the drama opened. ,
Now this drama is opening again, this time with even more rewriting at Markwis Theater in New York. Some story points work to clarify and others are due to the technical changes and increasing production for broadways – but some are just for extra fun, such as Netflix’s prestigious “Watch Credit” or “Next Episode …” option, a node for the option, which shines on the LED screen of the stage just before the curtain call at the end of the show.

“What you will see in the documentary is that we originally ran out of time in London,” First Shadow “manufacturer Fridman told Diversity“And he was not built for the documentary, we really ran out of time in London. We loved what we had done in London, but we knew that we knew that we had a stop-dead date to start a performance and open the show. And we knew that the work will continue after being opened in London, and this is because you can teach a lot in front of a spectators and this is that you can do a lot of change, and it can also work to make a big change, and it can also work to make a big change, and it can also work. Was impossible.
Freedman says that while the London version is “still luxurious”, it is very different, “and put in a theater which is half the size of Markwis.
Friedman said, “The set was rebuilt. There were effects that we brought, in the context of how we designed it. But everything was rebuilt,” Freedman said. “As we call it ‘The Gantree’ – one of the final effects – in the context of that effect from London.
And, while Netflix would not disclose how much it cost to produce “The First Shadow” – for the first West End and now for Broadway again – it was definitely not cheap. But Netflix has a good shot to resume their expenses through ticket sales and exclusive mercury fans can only buy in “The First Shadow”. Josh Simon, the vice president of Netflix of consumer products, likes to call these products (one of which starts only in the interval so that the first act does not spoil the specific plot points in the act) instead of “artifacts” instead of “souvenirs”.
Simon said, “It begins with a huge fan of entertainment goods with matte and ross duffer. And they are their entire life, such as, they still proud their T-shirt collections that they have gathered in the collecting years,” and this actually rewards fans who are enthusiastic to go to the show, “they said.
“Stranger Things: The First Shadow” may be the first broadway play of Netflix, but it is far from its first live experience. The company has been focused on extending the branch of its business for the last three years, which has been reporting more than 40 unique experiences to date and has reached 7.5 million fans in 170 inauguration in 100 cities around the world. These include “Squed Games: The Experience,” “The Queen’s Ball: A Brijunten Experience,” “Stranger Things: The Experience,” Restaurant Netflix Bits La and Netflix Bits Vegas. Soon, Netflix will open two permanent spaces for in-tradition entertainment and experiences, called Netflix House; One king of the king, in Pennsylvania, and the other in Galleria Dallas in Texas.
“We are about to tell great stories, and this can happen in many means,” Simon said that when other Netflix was asked about the ability to make its way to broadway and waste end for IPS. “We are always looking for ways to bring fans closer to the world and they love. Theater is definitely an element of it. Experience, restaurants are other examples. And I would just say that we are always looking for new ways to bring new stories into life.”
For now, you definitely need to go to the theater to get a story because Netflix does not have a plan to stream the “first shade”.

“From the approach of a visual impact and a production design point of view, we are doing things that I think are very groundbreaking and not done before,” Simon said. “Just a real intestine reaction that is afraid of the rapid jump of people, to really laugh, light hearted humor and even some music number in the middle. It’s a unique experience and we have actually designed it as a unique theater experience. And that’s where we have attention.
As a prequel for “Stranger Things”, “The First Shadow” has several callbacks for the TV series with Joyce’s adolescent version (starring by Winona Rider on the TV series), Hopper (David Harbor’s character) and Bob Austin (starring by Sean Estin). And, at its center, it was played in the West End, which was played by Henry Crell (Louis McCartney “by West End) and Patty Newbi (a new character for stage play, depicted by Gabriell Neva).
“One of the tricks of this whole process was trying to make something that could stand on its own as a unique story, but even before whatever came earlier, and also talk to the future episode in the final season,” Trefri told. Diversity“But also create something that you don’t have to see to understand season 5. Sometimes it seemed that it was a catch -22, and I think we thread the needle best.

But whether Patty will be included as a character in the upcoming fifth and the final season of “Stranger Things”, when it makes debut later this year, Treffri says: “This is something that I am not in freedom to disclose.”
Freedman is proud of the state that more than 70% of the “The First Shadow” Audiences are the first theater, and it is completely based on the waste end performance and broadway preview, which is before the night opening on Tuesday. If she can hold interest, it will determine how long the show lasts, some Friedman is not yet ready to bet.
“This is an impossible question to answer,” Freedman said. “But no manufacturer or creative team puts this work and time and amount of love in a project, which we have been developing for many years,” Freedman said. “We started talking about this for the first time in 2018 and now it has gone up to 2025. We have not only made it to run it only for a few weeks. We believe we should stay here for a while. But we are talking a few days before the inauguration. So let us interact in six months time.”
For Trefry, he has no plan to pen any more script – dramatic or otherwise – until he had a break to recover from the “first shadow”.
“I know some crazy rumors are floating all around that it is the first part of a trilogy that I cannot confirm or deny. No, I am rejecting it,” the traffrey promised.
