Just set a password on your PC in Windows 11. There is not a certain way to prevent hackers from getting physically access to your PC – yes, it can be bypassed. But there is another security measure that you can take.
For an additional layer of safety, you can convert a humble USB drive into a safe key that will lock and unlock your PC, making it very difficult to achieve access to the intruders. This way…
What to do…
Windows 11 has the facility to install a safe USB key. But I like to use free third-party app USB raptor, which gives me a little more control over how my key works.
- Get a USB flash drive without any file loaded on it. I am using Sandisk 16 GB Ultra Fit, which cost me $ 9 on Amazon.
- Download and install the USB raptor and launch the app. It will launch in configuration mode with three steps to complete its safe key to set.
- Step 1: Choose an encryption password and write it somewhere so that you do not forget it.
- Step 2: Plug into your USB flash drive and choose the right drive letter. It was allocated. Now click Create k3y file,
- Step 3: Before you enable the USB raptor, you would like to make a backdoor login in the event of losing your key.

Pro tip: If you are not eager to use USB raptors, there are many other security apps to choose. Two others include hunter and Rohos logon key. While you can do what you can do in these apps, you will have to pay to unlock a full suit of features.
More things to pay attention:
- Be sure to label your USB flash drive security key so that you never mix it with other drives.
- Use USB drive with fast reading/writing speed to speed up your login.
- Before you create a key, backup your data to ensure that you do not lose it.
If you have followed the steps given above, now you must have a safe key that will make your PC more secure – as well as backdoor access in the event of anything wrong. If you do not want to use your key, just deactivate it in the app.
