Rohit Sharma expressed his hope that two premiere fast bowlers of Team India, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami, will be fit and available for the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) for the upcoming five-match test series against England starting on June 20.
Rohit Sharma told former Australia captain Michael Clarke on Beyond 23 Cricket Podcast, “We need a hundred percent to some of these people (Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami).”
“We just have to ensure that they come out of the IPL Fit. Because this is the most challenging tour.
“I know in the IPL, this is only four overs, but you play today, travel tomorrow. You train, you play, and then you play again. So it’s a challenging part.

How optimists are you about India’s opportunities in the upcoming testing series against England?
“You are traveling all over the country and playing so many games.
“So I hope these two people, along with other players, really complete the IPL without any concern.
“If we have a fully fit team, obviously we will have a great series in England. It’s a good challenge for us in England,” he said.
India lost Jasprit Bumrah for a back injury during the Sydney Test, while Mohammed Shami missed the tour due to a knee injury. India will trust these two bowlers so that they are fit and available for the tour of England.
Who is that IPL player?
Following the loss of a disappointing 3–1 Border-Gavaskar Trophy, India surprised everyone by winning the Champions Trophy even without Jaspreet Bumrah. Michael Clarke inquired about the impact of Bumrah’s absence with Rohit Sharma and the spirit of winning such an important tournament.
Rohit said, “We had to go through a lot of climb before the tournament started. We did not have a great home series against New Zealand and then Australia. So we wanted to turn things. We wanted to bounce back.”
