Like many people these days, I have moved beyond X (East Twitter) after all changes and disputes over the years. X has been an unpleasant platform for long -time walking, but the effects of Musk have severely ruined things – and I am dying for an option.
And I am clearly not only one, because the options are pop up everywhere. The most promising option? Open-source Blisski, which I am very keen recently, and the threads of the meta. While both have collected millions of users, threads stand out with more than 275 million monthly active users by the end of 2024.
Therefore, I decided to use threads for a month, checked at least once a day, joining the conversation, and also posting your ideas. Here I have learned what I have learned about threads in the last few weeks, from the aspects that I like.
What do i like about threads
Threads claim many luxurious features, especially of us who remember Twitter in their early days. It seems like a more sophisticated version of Twitter, a one that is designed keeping in mind modern sensations (and challenges). Here I especially like it about it.
You don’t have to start with scratches

Unlike most of Twitter options in view of Musk’s X acquisition, threads are associated with a lot of backing with an established social media company. Thanks for being developed by Instagram – which is like Facebook, in ownership of meta – when you signed up to use threads, you are not starting from scratches.
Instead, you already have an opportunity to follow them all on Instagram. This feature is not available on the Threads Web app, but at least on the mobile app, you can just click Settings> Follow and invite friends> Follow Instagram FriendsThreads would also suggest people that you are already following Instagram.
Whether or not this interconnectity can appeal to you, but there is no debate on its convenience as early onboarding. On other social media platforms, finding people to follow – whether they are new to you or you eat elsewhere – may be a friction point.
Threads have tons active users
Dave Parc / Foundry
Another positive platform of threads on all other Twitter-Lix is a sheer number of active monthly users on a positive platform. By January 2025, threads had reached 320 million users, which incredcibly compared against Bluuski, which only claims about 30 million users. Neither X nor its 650 million can compete with users, but threads are clear winners of comparable options.
Number of Active Users on a social media platform really matter. More people, more activity. More activity, the more it seems alive and meaningful. When you post something, it is more likely to be exposed to the eyeball, generating discussion and eventually the case.
It is especially true when I respond to the positions of other people. Whether I agree with someone, call them to spread wrong information, or just a joke, the engagement level is through the roof on the thread – even more engagement on Twitter, at least for me personally.
Many high-profile accounts are already
Dave Parc / Foundry
I considered my exit from X as an opportunity for a new beginning, and therefore not automatically followed all that I was first following on X on new platforms. For me, threads (and Blussky) represented the opportunity to re -borrowing my social media feed experience.
And yet, it is good to know that most of the large accounts I know and love and have adopted for years – from famous celebrities to creative to brands – are active on all threads. This gives validity to the platform, which unfortunately is not yet a case for Bluuski (although things are moving in that direction).
What do I dislike Threads
As much as I like threads, it’s perfect – like any other social media platform. Launched in 2023, now it is facing many challenges that Elon Musk accepted the invitation of Jack Daisi to achieve it before facing Twitter. Here I don’t like what I do not like the threads.
There is a lot of engagement cultivation
Dave Parc / Foundry
If you are not familiar with this word, “engagement cultivation” occurs when people post aiming, controversial or adopted materials on social media to promote likes, shares and discussions.
The engagement material is designed to trigger a response out of you. Anger fodder is designed to relate you so much that you share materials with others. The entire material draws you in and you get to smash like buttons. You must have also seen that “only genius can do this!”-To prove yourself, type hunting riddles on a congenital drive.
This is to say, engagement cultivation is best and harmful. It is a major problem on X, but it is also on threads. Fortunately, I have not seen it too much on Bluuski (yet).
Many interactions change negatively rapidly
Dave Parc / Foundry
There is another method in which threads suffer before Twitter? Regular emerges in conversation. While most people are still pleasant and happy to engage in the civil discourse, some are hurried to the fastest things to turn bad and sling negativity.
Unlike X, which actively encourages rude discourse, thread tries to maintain at least some level of citizenship. With the ability to report people to take people too far, if you try to post some posting unacceptable persuasion by the filter of themselves, the platform asks you to rethink before killing you Send(Sadly, do something.)
Feed customization options are limited
Dave Parc / Foundry
Threads provide limited ways to customize the way the post browsing. Standard feed is “for you” feed, which posts from those you follow And People you do not do, they are not interested. There is only one dedicated “following” feed with the accounts you follow, as well as “liked” and “saved”. That’s it.
Comparatively, Bluuski claims many different feeds, which you can follow, allowing you to really customize what you see while opening the app. And if you have a little coding expertise, you can also build your own custom feed that other people can follow themselves.
Honestly, it is not surprising. Any social media platform developed by the choice of Meta/Instagram/Facebook was always to ban how you interact with the stage, but it is still disappointing. Can Threads offer more optimization under the line? Perhaps. maybe no.
Am I going to use threads?
After using threads for a month, I now find myself checking on the platform several times a day. As is known to do social media, once you get into learning state and invest yourself in the stage, it is difficult to remove yourself again. For more response, let’s start craving for engagement for more interactions. And the larger it is with threads, it provides the most (in addition to X).
So, yes, i Desire Stick with threads for the future of the future. I hope that good parts are getting better and encourage others to hop from X, and I hope that the meta will invest the right resources to deal with the ongoing issues of platforms. It is better than bad now. My fingers cross that it develops further.
