Shefali Mundra, a tax expert at ClearTax, explained that the platform is built to handle tasks like auto-importing Form 16, managing capital gains, and guiding users through a chatbot-like assistant.
The latest feature allows users to file taxes
directly through Microsoft Teams, and an Azure OpenAI-powered WhatsApp agent supports nine regional languages, helping gig-workers manage their tax refunds.
Mundra stated that the AI system reduces the time spent on filing taxes. The AI engine auto-fills details after users upload their PAN or Form 16 and suggests tax-saving opportunities.
ClearTax’s AI also helps identify common mistakes.
“Our system detects errors early, such as income mismatches with Form 26AS or AIS, missing bank details, or incorrect PAN entries,” Mundra said.
The platform reminds users of tax benefits they may have missed, helping them maximize their refunds.
The AI engine keeps up with changes in tax laws to ensure compliance.
Mundra noted, “Our system cross-verifies inputs with government databases to prevent discrepancies.”
The platform also offers AI support and human assistance for additional help.
