Kunal Kapoor calls Saif Ali Khan ‘a pain’ for always being late on ‘Jewel Thief’ set: ‘And when he did, he didn’t know his lines’

‘Jewel Chor: The Hist starts’ Saif Ali Khan, Jaideep Ahlawat, Kunal Kapoor, and Nikita Dutta, releasing on Netflix on 25 April 2025. During promotion, Kunal said Saif “Ek Dard”, who is hanging between artists, to be late and unpublished. The film follows the successor of a courageous diamond.

Thriller ‘Jewel Chor: The heir begins‘Saif Ali Khan and Jaideep Ahlawat are set to release soon. Along with him, Kunal Kapoor and Nikita Dutta are also included in the film. Recently, Jaideep shared his experience working with Saif, making a comeback after a serious attack in 2025. As the film’s promotion, the actors joined the Filmigan to discuss about working over their time. Although Saif Ali Khan was not present, Kunal Kapoor stood with his funny and playful comments about Saif, attracted everyone’s attention.
Kunal Kapoor’s experience on set
During the conversation, Nikita Dutta and Jaideep Ahlawat mentioned that they enjoyed their time on the set. However, Kunal Kapoor shared that he often felt alone as his character was constantly chasing others, which meant that he spent a lot of time alone, while the rest of the artists enjoyed each other’s company.
Filling different and light moments
Nikita revealed that Kunal often had to film her scenes separately as her character was going to pursue others. Kunal came to a compely that he abolished the set and picked up the cup during downtime. He then enhanced fun by making a fickle, satirical comment about Saif.

When asked about working with Saif, Kunal described him as “pain”, explaining that Saif often arrived late and struggled to remember his lines, leading to many delays. The artists laughing said that since Saif is not on social media, he will probably not look at Kunal’s comments until he appears in a newspaper. Kunal described Saif as a pain to work, mentioning that it was difficult because Saif often did not arrive on time. When he showed, he never knew his lines, which meant that he had to wait to learn, resulting in many retakes.
