Lucid is on track to launch its midsize electric SUV in 2026, company officials said on Tuesday, as the EV manufacturer wants to tap a fast competitive section of rival rival Tesla’s bestsailing model Y Crossover.
Senior Vice President of Lucid Derek Jenkins said, “There are many crazy things going on in the world that can affect that (timeline). But we are currently on track.”
The company targets the $ 50,000 price point, which will pits the model against the claimants like Ford Mustang Mach-E, Hyundai Ionic 5 and upcoming Rivian R2.
Lucid’s teams are preparing for the assembly lines and working with vendors to move forward with the launch, said IMad Dalala, senior vice president of the electric vehicle manufacturer.
