PB Fintech, the parent company of Policybazaar and Paisabazaar, stated that it will offer employment opportunities to family members of those who lost their lives in the incident.
Additionally, the company will sponsor the education of the children of the deceased. These opportunities will be available across PB Fintech offices in India.
Alok Bansal, Co-founder and Executive Vice Chairman of PB Fintech, said the company is working with local authorities to identify and connect with impacted families. He noted that the initiative will extend to civilians as well as families of police, paramilitary, and armed forces personnel.
Bansal also mentioned that an internal discussion with the board led to the decision to create a foundation to provide continued support to such families.
On the other hand, LIC has announced special relaxations to facilitate quicker claim settlements for the families of policyholders who were victims of the attack. The insurer said it will accept alternative forms of proof in place of a traditional death certificate.
Official records from government authorities confirming the death due to the terrorist attack, or evidence of compensation granted by state or central governments, will be considered valid.
“LIC of India expresses deep grief over the death of innocent citizens at Pahalgam and has announced special concessions to settle the death claims at the earliest,” said Siddhartha Mohanty, Managing Director and CEO of LIC.
The insurer has advised claimants to visit the nearest LIC office or contact its helpline (022-68276827) for assistance.
Claim forms and documentation requirements have also been simplified to reduce procedural delays.
Additionally, travel services company Cox & Kings has announced a policy change in light of the incident. The company is offering a full refund or free rescheduling on all Kashmir-bound bookings. Customers can cancel or modify their plans without incurring penalties.
Karan Agarwal, Director at Cox & Kings, said the initiative is intended to support travellers in making informed decisions, given the situation in the region. The company is also offering assistance in booking alternate destinations.
