The court has now demanded a return of its passport to consider Alladia’s petition on 28 April.
The charge sheet is expected to be filed soon
According to PTI, the apex court also asked the Assam Police to clarify whether Ranveer Allabia is still necessary for any further investigation. Meanwhile, the Maharashtra Police has completed its investigation, and a charge sheet is expected to be filed soon, as confirmed by Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, which appeared to both police departments.
The investigation is completed
As mentioned by ANI, the bench, including Justice Surya Kant and N. Kotiswar Singh, recorded that the investigation related to Ranveer Allahbadia was completed, while also in mind that in the Guwahati Cedar, a co-accused statement still needs to be recorded.
Permission to resume the first given podcast
Earlier, on 3 March, the court had allowed Allahbadia to resume its podcast the Ranveer show, on the condition that the material maintains morality and decency and is suitable for audiences of all age groups.
On 18 February, Ranveer Alladia was provided interim security from the arrest by the apex court after several FIRs were registered in the states. A comic YouTube organized by FIR Sam Raina was allegedly based on objectionable comments about sex and parenting during the discussion. The court had earlier directed Allahbadia to surrender its passport at the nodal cyber police station in Thane, while reflecting his comment “porn” and “dirty mind”.
Apart from Ranveer Allahbadia, the names of cedar in Assam are also Advas Raina, Ashish Chanchalani, Jaspreet Singh and Apoorva Makhija.
