Other iPads to consider

Apple no longer sells these ipads, but these little old models are still good options, as long as you can find them for the right discount. I recommend checking third-party retailers (such as Amazon, Best by and B&H). I also suggest that the price with the latest models cross-check the price that you are spending a reasonable amount on the old tablet. It is rapidly difficult to find the older models mentioned here and cannot be worth it.
iPad Pro (2022, 6th gene): These iPad Pro Tablet (7/10, Wired Review) use the same M2 chip that is inside MacBook Air (2022), Mac Mini and iPad Air (2024). It has an excellent mini-LED screen (with a 120-hurts screen refresh rate) as well as a dual camera system (with a lidar sensor), a front-facing camera with support for center stage, as well as with great speakers and mixes. This original magic keyboard case is compatible with the second generation Apple Pencil and Apple Pencils with USB-C. I only recommend this if you can get 11-inch for $ 749 or less and 12.9-inch for $ 900 or less.
iPad air (2022, 5th gene): This iPad Air has an M1 processor (which can also be found in 2020 MacBook Air), 10.9-inch LCD screen, a USB-C port, touch ID is made in top power button, and 5G support. It is a great, light tablet that is very powerful for most functions. It packs support for the second generation apple pencil, USB-C with apple pencil and magic keyboard case. I only recommend it for $ 450 or less.
iPad (2022, 10th gene): The 10th gene iPad comes with an A14 bionic chip (the same iPhone 12), a modern design (also in fun colors), a 10.9-inch liquid retina (IPS LCD) display, a USB-C port, touch ID integrated into power buttons, 12-megapixel selfie camera, 12-megapixel celly camera, 12-megapixel rear camera, and 5g Is. It is also compatible with the first-ze apple pencil, Apple Pencil (USB-C), Magic Keyboard Folio and Smart Folio. However, it is worth noting that the display is not completely in laminate, so there is a difference between the screen and the glass that can make the apple pencil feel less accurate. This is a solid option if you are looking for a basic, inexpensive iPad. But given that it is now three years old, I only recommend it for $ 260 or less.
iPad Air (2024, M2): This iPad Air (8/10, wired recommends) is less than a year old, so it is still an excellent option. You will have an option between 11-inch and 13-inch liquid retina display, but both are powered by a M2 chip (the same M2 chip which provides power to 13 inch MacBook Air and MacBook Pro from 2022). Additional features include a USB-C port, built in touch ID power button, and landscape orientation 12-megapixel sensor (with support for the center phase). It is also compatible with Apple Pencil (USB-C), Apple Pencil Pro, First-Jen Magic Keyboard Case and Smart Folio Case. I only recommend this if you can find an 11-inch version under $ 400 and 13 inches for $ 600 or less.
Great ipad accessories
iPad accessories are endless. Below, we have highlighted some of our favorite to fulfill our tablet experience, and you can find more in us Best iPad Accessories Guide,
Zugu case for $ 50: This is our favorite Folio case for iPad for several reasons. It is not only durable (complete with a rigid bumper), but it also has a magnetic cover that remains closed and a flap that allows you to keep the screen in position at eight different angles. The case is magnetic, so that you can safely stick it to the fridge. It is also a reasonable value, comes in an array of colors, and your apple is a place for pencils.
Satechi M1 Wireless Mouse for $ 30: We are already a big fan of satechi accessories in Wired, and this mouse did not disappoint. It has a comfortable ergonomic design, a smooth aluminum finish and smooth scrolling. It also has a great battery life-with a built-in lithium-ion battery, I have been using it for the last four months and not yet to charge it.
Mageasy Coverbuddy Case (iPad Pro) for $ 65: This case allows you to connect Apple to Magic Keyboard case of Apple without taking off the case every time. It feels durable and does not add too much bulk to the iPad. There is also a slot for Apple Pencil Pro or USB-C version. The company also provides covered light for iPad Air (M2).

It is also a viological, so you can easily remove the keyboard when you do not need it. It connects through Apple’s smart connector, which means that you never need tinker with Bluetooth or are troubled by charging it. It is also available for iPad Pro (M4) (although it adds a little weight to such thin tablets) and iPad Air (M2).
Cassethal Impact Screen Guard for $ 56: If you are worried about damaging your iPad screen, I advise this protector from castiffy. It is painless to apply-Company supplies a microfiber fabric, a de-dusting sticker, and wet and dried wipes.
Pepperlight Charcoal Folio Case for $ 65: Pepperlak is known for its screen guard, but the company also offers a great case. It is designed to feel like a sketchbook, complete with a polyester fabric cover that feels light and high quality. You can also run your iPad at two different levels. It does not come with an apple pencil slot, but a large flap is off that prevents it from falling out. I tested it with iPad Air, but it is also available for iPad Pro (both size).
Twelve South Stego Mini USB-C hub for $ 60: The ports are limited regardless of iPad model. This hub of twelve South has an 85-watt USB-C port with Pasthrough charging, a USB-A port, an HDMI and a headphone jack. If you have trouble fitting it on an iPad with an case, the involved socket-USB-to-Plug-USB-C cable will fix it.
Apple Magic Trackpad (USB-C) for $ 129: For a huge trackpad, Magic Trackpad 2 is a great option. Instead of the physical button, it has force touch sensors where you can feel different levels of pressure on the pad. With support for various iPados gestures, you will not have to touch the screen as much. It automatically recharges with your iPad through Bluetooth and recharges with lightening port.
Logitech K380 Bluetooth Keyboard for $ 40: If you like an external keyboard, it is difficult to be wrong with Logitech K380. It is light and portable and may be connected to three devices through Bluetooth (with a button dedicated to switch between them). The keyboard is powered by AAA batteries, which lasted for about four months, so you do not have to worry about carrying a charger around.
Twelve South Hoverbar Duo 2.0 for $ 80: Horberbar fulfills two objectives. You can mount it to the edge of your bed, kitchen counter, or shelf (comfortable content and hand free), or you can use the stand involved on your desk. With the 2-Gy version, you can now remove the hand from the clamp and attach it directly to the stand, making it easier to swap between the two modes.
