E-ink screens are easy on the eyes, but backlighting and extremely slow rate deficiency makes them impractical for many things beyond typical e-reader or signage application. But continuous recurrence has upgraded the technique rapidly, and now a company is selling a portable e-ink monitor that can comfortably handle a complete modern OS. And the shocking thing is that it is not inappropriate as far as the price goes.
Dasang Pepperlaic 103 is a 10.3-inch portable e-ink monitor including touch capacity and front light. (E-Ek usually does not allow for backlighting, and front-lighting means low eye stress.) It has a USB-C connection for power and video, and the demo clip shows that Windows 11 appears on its black-and-white display, as well as working as a mirror display for Android. And it’s running at 60 Hz! This fresh rate budget is not uncommon for LCD screen, but it Is About 10X faster (or more) than regular e-Ek devices.
The video features Windows and Android apps scrolling at a very fast speed, which is accompanied by some noticeable screen tearing. The user is also typing comfortably with at least-bina lag, something that can be an issue with writing on devices such as e-Ek readers/Tablet or Freevit. With the exception of the Black-And-White Screen, it really seems to be it that you can use it with a modern, full-power device-perhaps a mini PC?-With any losing any functionality. Unfortunately, Dasung says that it is certainly not compatible with MacoS.
The 4: 3 display is small and is slightly strange with its 1872 × 1404 resolution, but I think it is a realistic option if you want a comfortable way of reading or writing hours without accessing the full-power version of Microsoft Word or Libraoffis Writer. And Dasung is selling it in $ 349 USD. This is high for 10-inch USB-C monitor … but not inappropriate, given that OLED portable monitors can walk around the same price.
