The wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant is scheduled to take place at the Jio World Convention Centre in Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), Mumbai.
Multiple businesses in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) have instructed their staff to work from home between July 12 and July 15 because of traffic constraints caused by Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding.
Between July 12 and July 15, only vehicles for the event will be allowed on the roads near the wedding venue, the luxurious Jio World Convention Centre in BKC owned by billionaire Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance group.
The widespread traffic limitations have caused anger among residents and online.
Police stated that the presence of well-known international and Indian celebrities has classified the celebration as a “public event.”
The grand Indian wedding involves lavish pre-wedding festivities held in India and overseas after months of preparations. Mukesh and Nita Ambani organized two extravagant parties – one in Gujarat’s Jamnagar in March and the other on a luxury cruise in Europe. Anant Ambani will get married to Radhika Merchant on Friday after a series of events in Mumbai over the past two weeks.
This weekend’s extravagant festivities will feature famous figures like Kim Kardashian, her sister Kloe Kardashian, Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-Yong, and former British prime minister Boris Johnson.
Justin Bieber entertained a large crowd at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s Sangeet ceremony last week.
Hotel room prices in BKC have increased significantly, reaching up to ₹91,000 per night for this weekend.
