Puja Khedkar, a 34-year-old officer, is currently facing scrutiny for reportedly abusing her power, displaying aggressive behavior, and other violations in the UPSC selection process.
Khedkar, a member of the Maharashtra cadre, has been alleged to have requested special privileges like a dedicated office, official car, and staff prior to assuming duties as an Assistant Collector in Pune. Probationary officers usually do not have access to these amenities. She also stated she had vision problems but reportedly avoided the required physical check-up six times.
Allegations have been increasing due to reports of aggressive actions towards coworkers and attempted meddling in law enforcement issues.
After the Pune District Collector’s report was given to the Chief Secretary, Puja Khedkar was moved to Washim.
The central government has created a committee to investigate the accusations against Khedkar and her UPSC hiring. As per a source speaking to news agency PTI, Khedkar could face dismissal if proven guilty.
