Adityanath urges party members to act swiftly for upcoming elections and increase social media usage to combat false stories.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that the BJP’s expectations were affected in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls in Uttar Pradesh due to the overconfidence of party workers and candidates.
Adityanath was speaking at the BJP’s state executive meeting, where the party’s national president and Union minister JP Nadda were also present. This was the BJP’s initial significant gathering in Uttar Pradesh subsequent to the Lok Sabha elections.
Adityanath stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the party had notable achievements in Uttar Pradesh in 2014, 2017, 2019, and 2022, continuously putting pressure on the opposition.
The BJP achieved the same vote percentage in 2024 as in the previous elections, but our expectations were impacted by vote-shifting and overconfidence. The opposition, previously relying on ventilator support, has now received some oxygen,” Adityanath stated during the final session of the daylong meeting at Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University in Lucknow.
During the recently held Lok Sabha elections, the BJP secured 33 seats in Uttar Pradesh, a decrease from the 62 seats it won in 2019. The Congress acquired six spots, whereas its partner Samajwadi Party secured 37 spots in U.P, which has 80 representatives in the Lower House of Parliament.
Adityanath urged all party members to quickly become involved in the upcoming by-elections in 10 assembly constituencies and the 2027 state assembly elections.
He urged Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs, MLAs, MLCs, district panchayat presidents, mayors, block chiefs, chairpersons and others to begin preparations for the 2027 assembly elections starting today.
He mentioned that we need to raise the BJP flag in the state once more. He emphasized the importance of BJP leaders and workers being extremely active on social media and promptly refuting any rumors.
Listing his administration’s successes to the party members, he stated, “With your support, we have managed to rid U.P. of criminal organizations.” Furthermore, the placement of Shri Ram Lalla in his temple in Ayodhya concluded a 500-year period of anticipation.
He stressed the importance of BJP workers not giving up in any situation as they have put in a lot of effort.
He said that while in opposition, you advocated for the concerns of the public, and now that you’re in power, there is a feeling of safety in UP.
Adityanath also stated that in previous times, streets were empty during Moharram.

He emphasized the collaboration between his government and BJP workers in serving people equally during the Covid-19 crisis.
He initiated an assault on the Samajwadi Party (SP) by reminding people of Dr Ram Manohar Lohia’s belief that as long as Ram, Krishna, and Shiva were revered in India, the country would remain indestructible.

He claimed that the SP continuously disrespected Dalit intellectuals and important figures.
The chief minister emphasized that if “our society” is divided, it becomes vulnerable, but if united, even powerful nations would be defeated.
This election witnessed the sin of discrimination on the basis of caste. We need to be careful and vigilant. To combat false narratives, we need to optimize our use of social media platforms. He stated that we should highlight BJP’s opinions on prominent Scheduled Caste individuals.
He mentioned that the BJP secured victory in every one of the 17 mayoral seats in the municipal elections of 2023, obtaining the highest number of municipal seats as well as chairman and councilor seats.
“In 2022, we emerged victorious in the by-elections held in Azamgarh and Rampur.” The BJP’s flag will be displayed at all the upcoming by-elections for the 10 assembly seats. We need to begin working on it immediately. “This needs to be our commitment starting today,” he stated.
