India vs Bangladesh 2nd Test Day 2, Kanpur weather: The India vs Bangladesh second Test got off to a gloomy start as only 35 overs could be bowled in the opening day due to bad weather conditions. The play saw an hour delay at the start, and only a brief spell of action was possible in the second as “incessant rain” forced umpires to call for early Stumps. Bangladesh were batting at 107/3, with Mominul Haque (40*) and Mushfiqur Rahim (6*) present in the middle.

While fans eagerly wait for the action to resume, scenes appear equally bleak on Day 2 as the weather is predicted to remain gloomy, which could once again curtail the day’s play. As per the data on Accuweather, the morning in Kanpur will remain overcast and around 9am we can expect some downpour accompanied with thunderstorms. The weather is expected to remain the same throughout the day with very little sight of sun.

If we dive into more data, there’ll be 93 percent cloud cover, while the probability of precipitation is 80 percent. These are gloomy signs and can washout Day 2 entirely. However, in all likelihood that shouldn’t be the case, and India would look to make as many injections or fold the Bangladesh innings in whatever play is possible on Saturday.

Coming back to Day 1, India won the toss and invited Bangladesh to bat first. The visitors reached 74/2 at Lunch, with Akash Deep scalping both the wickets. The pacer removed Zakir Hasan for 0, and trapped Shadman Islam LBW for 24(36). The second session saw Ravichandran Ashwin joining the act and removing Bangladesh skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto, who was trapped LBW for 31(57). Mominul and Mushfiqur then took Bangladesh to 107/3 before rain stopped play.
